“Words, Hollywood & the Valley: A Scout Literacy and Communications Evening with Marty Cooper”

Join us for a special sponsored by Marty Cooper, who will share his passion for literacy, communications, and Old Hollywood. Scouts will learn how reading, storytelling, research, and preserving history all connect to leadership and personal growth.

This event will support Scouts working toward the Reading Merit Badge and may also provide insight into Communication, Journalism, Public Speaking, and other related merit badges.

Important: Scouts should not expect to complete the entire Reading Merit Badge during the event. There will be several prerequisites that must be completed beforehand. During the event, Scouts will have the opportunity to discuss their work, complete remaining requirements, and, if all requirements have been fulfilled and approved by the merit badge counselor, earn their Reading Merit Badge.

Please begin working on the Reading Merit Badge workbook as soon as possible and bring your completed work to the event.

We look forward to an evening of learning, storytelling, and inspiration with Marty Cooper!
