Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) and
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
WHAT YOU NEED:
~Wear your Field Uniform (aka “Class A” uniform) if you have one, but come anyway if you don’t.
~Dress appropriately for the weather.
~A tent is part of the curriculum
~A cheerful heart and a mind ready to learn and have a great time, with fellow Scout leaders
BALOO participants – there’s more
BALOO training is now comprised of two components - an online and hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “Trained" Cub Scout outdoor leader and to receive the BALOO recognition patch. The online component contains introductory and basic information and must be completed prior to the practical component. Completing the online portion before the BALOO training makes the hands-on training more valuable and meaningful.
The online portion of BALOO is available in the BSA Learn Center within https://my.scouting.org/
**Please bring proof of the Certificate of Completion for the online BALOO Training**
NOTE: To receive your “Trained” Patch, you must also complete:
Youth Protection Training (online at http://www.scouting.org/Training/Adult.aspx)
Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific or Cub Leader or Cubmaster Specific training
