Aquatics/ATV Adventure @ Castaic Lake
A partnership with CSUN Aquatics Center
All Scouts BSA members are invited to attend this one-day aquatics/ATV workshop. Scouts will be able to work on requirements for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and small boat sailing (you MUST have completed Safe Swim/Safety Afloat and swim test prior to the event).
Through a partnership with Dept. of Parks & Recreation, Scouts will be able to suit up and learn how to ride a hydraulic-operated ATV. Scouts will receive an ATV education and riding experience of a lifetime!
Members of the State Parks will also provide sessions on Environmental Awareness, which includes:
- Tread Lightly Remote Control four-wheel drive course with instructor, that subliminally teaches youth to respect nature and use authorized roads/trails (Up to five youth per session)
- Live hawks with Q & A
- Multiple tables under popup shade structures with State Parks staff
- State Parks staff to educate youth on various types of Southern California mammals and snakes, lizards, tortoises, etc.
- Youth under supervision are permitted to handle the non-venomous snakes.
