Welcome to Camp Emerald Bay! 

We are hosting all scouts from all scouting organizations to come celebrate Spooky Season at Camp Emerald Bay where you will be able to swim, canoe, and explore Catalina Island!

Register by clicking the button at the bottom of this page. You will need the participants names, date of birth, rank in scouting, and dietary restrictions.

Here is the projected itinerary of activities. The exact date and time of pick up will be communicated about two weeks before the event.

Friday:

Check in & loading times are tentative as we use multiple boat vendors throughout the year. Those who registered will receive an email 1-2 weeks prior to the weekend confirming the actual departure time and port location. For transportation planning, please account for a check-in time between 4:00pm-6:30pm.

6:30pm Arrival and Announcements

When you exit the boat, you will grab as much of any gear as you can carry and proceed to the end of the pier.  Drop/sort gear by the camp “Welcome” sign and gather for a safety briefing.

7:00pm Dinner: Wash hands before entering the Dining Hall. Move into housing after dinner.

9:00pm: Feeling Brave? Come to the Marine Science Center Haunted House (age-appropriate thrills and       chills, spooky songs, and glow-in-the-dark fun) or Star Party, short walk: Meet at Pavilion, behind Dining Hall (bring red light flashlights, if you have them; weather permitting)

10:00pm Quiet Hours: All scouts need to be in bed and noise kept to a minimum. Please be respectful.

Saturday:

7:30am Breakfast: Wash hands before entering the Dining Hall.

8:30am Orientation: Mandatory for ALL participants -- gather on the Dining Hall porch

9:00am-12:00pm Activities Open: Swimming at the pier, Stand-up Paddleboards/Kayaking (Restricted

Boundaries only), foil/paper boat making, fishing (limited gear), Marine Center Tours, Sandcastle Contest, Archery, BB Guns, Crafts, Soap Carving (11:00-12:00). Pumpkin Patch in Garden, Pumpkin Painting (dining hall porch).

(Waterfront closed during Beginner Swim Check/Float Test 9am-9:45am

9:00am Hike to Parson’s Beach (2mi, Moderate, 2 hr.): Meet at Pavilion, behind Dining Hall

12:30pm Lunch: Wash hands before entering the Dining Hall.

1:30pm-5:30pm Activities Open: Snorkeling/Swimming in Doctors Cove (full swimmers only),

Stand-up Paddleboard/Kayaking (full swimmers only), fishing (limited gear), Sandcastle Contest, Marine Center Tours (till 5pm), Archery, BB Guns, Crafts, Soap Carving (3-5:30pm). Pumpkin Patch Garden / Pumpkin Painting (dining hall porch).

(Waterfront closed during Full-Swimmer Swim Checks 1:30pm-2:00pm).

1:30pm Hike to Inspiration Point (1 mi, Easy, 45 min - 1 hr.): Meet at Pavilion, behind Dining Hall

6:00pm Dinner: Wash hands before entering the Dining Hall.

6:45pm Trick-or-Treating: Go around the trick-or-treat stations throughout camp! (Lit by red lanterns)

8:00pm Campfire: this is your chance to show off your talent! Prepare skits, songs, and stories to share.

9:00pm Star Party, short walk: Meet at Pavilion, behind Dining Hall right after campfire (weather permitting)

10:00pm Quiet Hours: All scouts need to be in bed and noise kept to a minimum. Please be respectful.

Sunday:

6:00am Sunrise Hike to Arrow Point (sturdy shoes - options for 0.5 mi easy, 1.25 mi moderate) Meet at Store

6:45am Cabin Clean Up and Pack Camp Sweep – Leave No Trace ***Line up gear along pier per boat#

7:30am Breakfast: Wash hands before entering the Dining Hall.

Boat Loading & Departure times are also tentative and will be disclosed 1-2 weeks prior to the weekend. For transportation planning, please account for a mainland arrival in Long Beach between 10:00am-12:00pm.
