Bill Hart Mountain Man 2025

What is Mountain Man: A day event Scouts BSA competition where Patrols go head to head to test their Mountain Man skills.
Pricing
: $35 per scout.  Adults are free.

Registration Information: You will need the following information:

  • Registration and Participation:
    • # of Youth Participants- suggested 4-8 scouts per patrol. No new registrations will be accepted after 9/20.
    • # of Adult Participants - Per YPT guidelines, a minimum of 2 adults need to register. No new registrations will be accepted after 9/20.
    • Scouts will be scored ONLY on their ability. NO LEADERSHIP or SPIRIT SCORES, UNIFORM or CAMPSITE INPECTION.
    • There will be 2 divisions based on age.
      • Division 1: Ages 11-13. Patrols must be between 4-8 Scouts
      • Division 2: Ages 14-18. Patrols must be between 4-8 Scouts
    • Updates and changes can be made up until 9/29/2024. Any modification requests after that date need to be submitted by email and approved.
      • It is suggested to do a preliminary registration and then add to it as you find out more of your particulars. Just make sure you keep track of your registration info so you can update your original registration and not just make a new one.
  • ​​Forms:
  • Troops:
    • EVERY TROOP IS REQUESTED TO RUN AN EVENT. Equipment and materials will be provided for most events.
  • Events include: Archery, Bucksaw, Burn the String, Rifle, Slingshot, Shotgun, Tomahawk and More! (Additional events will be added based on the number of participants)
  • Awards:
    • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each activity per division.
    • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place "overall" winners per division.
  • Food:
    • Lunch - Hot Dog meals (hot dog, chips and a drink) are available for purchase day of with cash only.  Please indicate on your registration if you are interested in purchasing a lunch.
    • Snack - Additional snacks and drinks will be available for cash only payment.
  • Communication:
    • After registration is complete, you will receive a separate email, which will include the Firearms Waiver, VT Ranch Waiver and the Events Guide. Please bring these with you day of event.
    • Any request (like list of events or changes to existing registration) must be sent to luannpeterson@yahoo.com.
